Erich Wolfgang KORNGOLD Violin Concerto
Richard STRAUSS Also sprach Zarathustra

Baiba Skride violin
Strauss’ Also sprach Zarathustra blazes a cosmic sunrise in the opening of Stanley Kubrick’s iconic film 2001: A Space Odyssey. Let your curiosity run wild as Schoenberg’s Accompaniment to a Cinematographic Scene plays out to an imaginary silent film. Korngold’s passion for the silver screen brings his favourite 1930s film themes together in the famous “Hollywood Concerto”, performed by much-loved Latvian violinist Baiba Skride. Walk the red carpet of Perth Concert Hall to music that transcends space and time.
